ADR(Alternative Dispute Resolution) is a method of resolving disputes outside traditional legal and administrative forums. There are some kinds of ADR. 

  1. Arbitration

  2. Conciliation 

  3. Mediation.


ADR is now a popular method for resolving disputes quickly. But it was not formally recognized in Bangladesh before 2000. In June 2000, formalized ADR was introduced in Bangladesh by means of court annexed judicial settlement pilot projects. ADR process was accepted by the because it decreases delay, expenses and its quick effectiveness.
