ADR  means  "Alternative Dispute Resolution." It a set of methods and processes that parties can use to resolve conflicts, disputes, or disagreements outside of the traditional court system. ADR methods are generally considered less formal, more flexible and often quicker.

There are several common types of ADR, including:

  1. Mediation: A neutral third party, the mediator, facilitates communication between the disputing parties and helps them reach a mutually acceptable solution.

  2. Arbitration: A neutral third party, the arbitrator, listens to both sides of the dispute and makes a binding decision, similar to a judge's decision in court. Arbitration can be either voluntary or required, depending on the situation.

  3. Negotiation: Direct communication and discussion between the parties involved, with or without the assistance of legal representatives, to try to reach a resolution.

  4. Conciliation: Similar to mediation, but the conciliator takes a more active role in proposing potential solutions to the parties
