The period Pakistan and Bangladesh primarily refers to the post-colonial era following the partition of British India in 1947. Pakistan was created as a separate nation for Muslims, comprising West Pakistan ( Pakistan) and East Pakistan (now: Bangladesh). Political and cultural differences led to tensions between the two regions, culminating in the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. East Pakistan, with the support of India, gained independence and became Bangladesh. Both countries have since navigated their paths through  political l, economic development, and social change, each forging distinct national identities and contributing to regional dynamics in South Asia.
