Welcome to Medicinal Chemistry-III Class
Course objectives
- Student will able to learn about combined synthesis for the discovery of lead compound
- Can explain the chemistry and synthesis of various groups of medicine
- Can identify the importance of functional groups of a given structure by evaluating structure activity relationships (SAR)
- Can describe the drugs from natural sources
Course Description
Medicinal Chemistry is the study of chemistry of different types of medicinally important compounds. It contains the knowledge about synthetic process of different types of drugs, enhance the potency of available drugs, minimize the side effects of drugs. Moreover knowledge of medicinal chemistry is very important for developing new drugs for the treatment of different types of complications, modification of available drugs to produce more potent derivatives.
