Rural development refers to the process of improving the quality of life and economic stability in rural areas. This involves initiatives to promote sustainable environmental practices and improve infrastructure, basic services, agricultural productivity, and livelihood opportunities. The primary objectives of rural development are to empower local communities, reduce poverty, and improve healthcare, education, and social equity. Its objective is to establish a growth environment that is balanced and incorporates rural communities into larger national development goals, ensuring that rural populations can prosper side by side with cities.

The ongoing goal of rural development is to promote constructive change in rural communities, empowering locals to live better lives. This entails building infrastructure, increasing chances for employment and agricultural output, and improving access to essential services like healthcare and education. Through the elimination of disparities and the inclusion of rural communities in national development programs, rural development fosters social acceptability. Through this method, communities can become resilient and self-sufficient while also focusing on environmental sustainability, economic growth, and community empowerment. It also emphasizes how crucial environmental preservation and community involvement are to advancing social and economic development.
