Series connection :In a series connection , the current has only one path, when the same current flows through all the component or resistors in the circuit .String light is a example of series connection .

Parallel connection : In a parallel circuit ,all of resistor lead on one side of resistor are connected together and all the leads on the other side are connected together. Here , the current is difference in every resistor but the voltage is also same in every resistor .
