Real power, also known as active power or true power, represents the actual power that is converted into useful work or dissipated as heat in an electrical circuit.

Reactive power is the power that oscillates back and forth between the source and the load in an electrical circuit without being converted into useful work.

Complex power, also known as apparent power, is the combination of real power and reactive power in an electrical circuit.
